
The last time London saw a 'real' white Christmas,
with a blanket of snow covering its streets,
was a long time ago, way back in 1895.
Yes, we have had actual snow falling in London
on Christmas Day, but it was just a few flakes.
The bookmakers still weren't happy though,
they have had to pay out thousands,
sometimes with only half a dozen flakes falling
on the 'big day'
I don't think there's a living person left in London
who can remember ever seeing London
looking like one of those pretty Christmas card scenes.
